It's a Play-doh kind of day

For the afternoon activity on April 1st (April Fool's Day) momma decided to pull out Catelyn's new containers of Play-doh for a little fun. We prepared for the craft by putting a large sheet of paper on the kitchen table (to help curb any mess that would possibly ensue) and sitting Catelyn on a "big girl" chair (ie. an adult kitchen chair -- she has moments where she thinks she is too grown up to sit in a highchair!). Momma arranged the 10 or so different containers of Play-doh colors in front of Catelyn and let her have at it.

Catelyn first chose the hot pink Play-doh to play with. It took her a minute to want to play with the doh.... She thought it felt quite strange and we don't think she was quite sure what she was supposed to do with it. She pinched it in her fingers and pulled little pieces off, trying to figure out what this new texture was. She made some pretty funny faces as she played with it (second picture below). Then she pointed at the green container, and then the blue container, choosing new colors to explore.

The craft session only lasted a half an hour or so, but Catelyn enjoyed it nonetheless. We may have a future crafter on our hands!
