Auntijen -- Our own little SuperWoman

As some of you know, my best friend (since freshman year of high school!) Jennifer Amber is quite the knitter. She is the one who made our little girl the adorable bunny hat and matching scarf that are proudly displayed in one of our posts from March of 2007. Once Jen found out that we were expecting with Catelyn in February of 2006, she started straight away on knitting a custom blanket for our little Peanut.

Well, since then, Miss Amber has been quite the busy bee, what with remodeling her newly purchased townhouse and adopting a new cat and getting her MASTERS and working full time and housesitting for countless friends and breaking in her new Nikon camera and spending time with her fantastic friends...... that she became a bit discouraged that she couldn't get Catelyn's blanket finished in time for the impending birth. But who can blame the girl? She is busy. But alas, two years later, on April 3rd, Jen came over and presented Catelyn with her new cuddly gift -- the completed blanket! (and not only that, she cooked us DINNER!)

It was everything that Jen had described to me when she first decided that she wanted to take on this huge task. Jen wanted the blanket to be soft and snuggly, and look like the fur of a Siamese cat. And ever the perfectionist, that is EXACTLY what Jen created. The pictures that I took of the blanket just don't do it justice. It is the softest, most beautiful blanket I have ever seen. And it is so WARM. It is the most perfect blanket to crawl up on the couch with, have the fireplace going, and watch Dora the Explorer with Catelyn. It is every bit the definition of the word cuddle.

Can I not emphasize any more that Jen is just the greatest friend ever?! Who could ask for a better person to have in their life? Not only has Jen been such a sweet, supportive friend to me for all of these years, but now she showers the same love on my little Catelyn, my husband, AND my dog. Who could ask for anything more?
