Fall Weekend Getaway

We celebrated Catelyn's first fall with a girls' weekend getaway. Sarah (Momma), Nene, and Catelyn took off and went to a town outside of Culpepper, Viriginia, to enjoy the cool weather and the changing leaves. Daddy had to work, so unfortunately we had to take off without him (he was greatly missed!).

We stayed at a beautiful place called The Inn at Kelly's Ford. They have some great little cottages you can stay in, or rooms in the main lodge, but we opted to stay in their "Silo" which literally looked just like a silo. It had a nice sitting area on the main floor with a mini kitchen, and doors out to a patio that overlooked the horse pastures. A spiral staircase led you up to the loft which had the bedroom and bath areas. One entire side of the silo was all windows, so no matter where you sat you had the perfect view of the land.

Catelyn loved watching all of the horses wander around the pastures outside of our silo. She pointed at them and tried to "talk" to them too. We had french toast in the mornings (Catelyn's favorite!) and enjoyed our breakfast while taking in the view. She also loved walking through the grass and playing with the grass blades while sitting down in it.

We took Catelyn to a local farm where they were having a Fall Festival. She got to walk through their apple orchard and even helped her Momma and Nene pick some delicious apples. We even passed by a yard sale on our way there and found a toy that Catelyn absolutely loves at her day care provider's house. We hit the jackpot with that one! All in all, it was a wonderful weekend.
