Catelyn Grace's Big Arrival

Catelyn Grace made her big arrival on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 9:59 pm. She weigned 7 pounds, 15.1 ounces, and was 18 3/4 inches long. She was delivered by cesarean section, although we did try very hard to deliver naturally. Sarah was induced that morning (after already being induced once before on her birthday!), and after laboring all day the nurses decided to break her water, which made everything progress very quickly. Before we knew it, Catelyn was here and letting us know how unhappy she was to be out of her cozy home! And other than the poor little thing having a "conehead," Catelyn was a perfect, healthy little girl. What a blessing God has given us!

Daddy was the first one to hold our little bundle of joy. He was able to go to the nursery with her while the nurses got her cleaned up. Momma was in the recovery room and had to wait until her uncontrollable shaking stopped before she could hold Catelyn. But then we were all together again -- one happy little family!

We chose the name Catelyn Grace, first, because it was the one name we agreed on (ha ha!), and second, because of its meaning. We loved Catelyn because it is an Irish name and because it means "pure." And we loved the middle name Grace because only by the beautiful grace of God were we able to have this little miracle.
