The Ninth Month (8 Months Old)

Throughout Catelyn's ninth month of life, she continued to develop even more than she had in the previous months. She added several more achievements to her ever expanding list, including clapping, playing at her first playground, "camping" for the first time, and "pulling up" in her crib. Quite the active child she is!

Catelyn began her eighth month as a beach baby while on vacation in Myrtle Beach, soaking up the sun (with tons of sunscreen of course!) and enjoying the water. Sarah even tried her hand at making homemade baby food while they were there, courtesy of some home-grown squash that her friends supplied just for Catelyn. She enjoyed it, as well as playing with the veggies before they were cooked, as you'll see in the photo below. She also had her first baby "biscuit" that she enjoyed gumming and making quite a mess!

On August 4th, the Jones family packed up (Scout included!) and headed up to Pennsylvania with family friends, Josh, Jenn, and Nadia Sands, for the annual Sands family reunion. They spent the day hanging out, eating some great food, and enjoying the gorgeous weather. That evening, Sarah and Catelyn "camped" in the Sands' camper, while Mike and Scout roughed it in the tent. They had a great time! On the way home, they stopped for a stretch at a local park, where Catelyn rode on a frog and went down the slide with her daddy.

Catelyn is now trying to pull up on things and stand as best she can on her own. She loves to play with the table toy she has that talks and plays music. She feels quite independent being able to stand there and play with it. She continues to love walking, and now even tries to run! (while holding onto adult hands for balance) We can't wait to see what the ninth month will bring and how much more our little angel will grow! She is the absolute joy of our lives.
